Galaxy Express 555 is under glass by Christopher Farstad with some guests; big shuddering waves of Digi-Synth Work that break apart slowly into compositions of great subtlety and photographic depth. The title is a reference to the famous work on photography by Vilem Flusser:

"The photographer’s gesture as the search for a viewpoint onto a scene takes place within the possibilities offered by the apparatus. The photographer moves within specific categories of space and time regarding the scene: proximity and distance, bird- and worm’s-eye views, frontal- and side-views, short or long exposures, etc. The Gestalt of space–time surrounding the scene is prefigured for the photographer by the categories of his camera. These categories are an a priori for him. He must ‘decide’ within them: he must press the trigger."

The reference to Byrne/Eno is apposite...there are similarities in construction and the use of narrative snippets but this music shines in its own light...not borrowed glory. It has great rhythm,layered textures and drama which make for detailed and discerning listening... One to savour. John Cratchley
